Project Plan Guidelines
These guidelines concern the preparation of the Project plan for the EE1L1 IP-1 project. You should prepare your Project plan in such a way that it helps you completing the project in a timely and organized manner. Please be advised that this structure is a simplified version of the plan provided in R. Grit (2015), Chapter 6. The following elements must be included in the plan:
Introduction & background
Briefly introduce the project and provide some background information. Here you can include a short description of the structure of your Project plan.Project results
Include the objectives of the project, and then add the aimed results of the project.Project activities
Devise the tasks which are required to achieve the project’s results and discuss the functions during the project meetings (e.g., chair, secretary, archivist, etc). Include a work breakdown structure in this section (for further details, see [1, Section 4.7]. Also, mention briefly the project limits.Organization & schedule
Make the distribution of workload among group members clear. Create a schedule which gives an overview of activities in relation to time (e.g., duration of each activity, start date, deadlines, etc). Based on these, carefully set your own timeline. Also think about the activities that (critically) influence the project and for which no explicit deadline is given in the manual.Risks analysis
Make a brief risk analysis. Some examples on these risks are: too-little experience in the group for project-based approach, unavailability/underperformance of project members, lack of good collaboration and communication, etc. Conclusions
Summarise the contents.
There is a lot of freedom in the layout of your Project plan. It is, however, expected from you that you only use commonly accepted fonts and font size, and that you enforce proper page margins, heading sizes etc. Graphs and tables should be legible on paper (after printing) and they must have captions in a matching style. Please do not forget to include a cover, a title page and a table of contents for your Project plan.
Your group must fill and sign the team commitment contract, and then place it in the appendix of the project plan document.
