}Welcome to the online IP-1 Manual¶
In the integrated project 1 (IP-1), you and your IP-1 group will design and build a complete audio system with Booming Bass extension. First, you will get from the project instructor the measurements of the characteristics of a 3-way loudspeaker system. You will analyze and build a power supply and a power amplifier. You will design speaker filters, and an extension of the filters for the booming bass effect.
Starting from a set of specifications, you will make design choices for each part of the system. Within your team, you will discuss the choices and divide the work among each other. To verify the choices you will make both analytical calculations and numerical simulations. For this purpose, you will use the mathematics and the linear circuits theory from previous and concurrent lecture courses.
You will construct the designs and test them with electrical and acoustic equipment. The measurement results are compared with those from the analytical calculations and the numerical simulations. On this basis, you will conclude to which extent the specifications have been met.
During IP-1 you will also train team working skills. Those include working in organized meetings, making a project plan, giving oral presentations, and delivering technical reports. The tutor and the student assistants will still be there as in the labs, but in principle you are in the lead.
